The Data Institute is an association for corporate members. Our purpose is to collectively uplift member organisations’ maturity in understanding and adopting data governance and data ethics.
We represent members of all sizes including some of the biggest data processors, aggregators, and innovators in Australia. Our membership is open to organisations from any industry that understand the value of good data governance and want to learn from other organisations on how to implement an effective data governance framework that supports tangible business outcomes from better data management.
Joining TDI does not mean that your organisation must adhere to a common and enforceable member code of conduct. Each of our members are at different stages of data governance and data ethics maturity, and so it is not feasible to require adherence to a common code of conduct as a condition of membership. In particular, Data Ethics principles should be an extension of your organisational Corporate Code of Conduct, and so the purpose of TDI is to help you develop your principles in line with your own corporate purpose and values.
Learn from other organisations that have successfully implemented data governance frameworks, and join peers that have the same questions as you and perhaps your board as well. Through our events, resources, and advocacy, we provide our members with the tools and knowledge to drive strong, accountable performance in data governance.
How will your organisation get value from TDI Membership:
Access to unique TDI content on relevant data governance, data management, data privacy and data ethics topics
Downloadable TDI Infographics on relevant data governance topics that Australian and New Zealand organisations are currently facing
Participation in Working Group meetings on particular data governance disciplines (data quality, metadata, data retention, data ethics etc)
Exposure to a community of practice where the sharing of practical tips and lessons learned are encouraged
Data Governance is becoming a more important discipline as organisations begin to recognise the liability associated with data risk. TDI does not operate from a specific textbook, and promotes a practical, experience based approach to applying best practice in data governance.
It’s the right time to join as we embark on how a data governance, automation and enterprise analytics platforms collide to result in better and faster business insights.
